Chris Jericho Returns to WWE...and Says Nothing

Well the big "1-2-12" promos had sparked some interest the past few weeks, but most everyone was predicting either the return of Chris Jericho or The Undertaker.  If you saw RAW, you know that the promos were for the return of Chris Jericho.  As the final promo played with the little girl and the little boy, I was trying to figure out what it could all mean and what the significance of the girl was....but little did I know that the promos with the kids were only the BEGINNING of the night's confusion.

As the final promo ended, the screen started to shake and the lights went out, which definitely felt like The Undertaker was on his way out.  The crowd started a "Y2J" chant, and sure enough there was Jericho in his trademark pose while wearing an LED lit jacket.  The place went crazy and it looked like the over the top good guy Jericho was back.  He got in the ring smiling, and seemed to be ecstatic to be in front of the WWE Universe again.  The celebration continued, as Jericho got out of the ring and made the rounds high fiving fans.  Jericho got back in the ring, grabbed the mic, but then decided to work the crowd even more and keep the celebration going.  I think it was about 5 minutes into this when I started to feel like Jericho might be overdoing it, and he needed to go ahead and say whatever he was going to say....but that didn't happen.

When Jericho finally did grab the mic and ALMOST started to talk.......he dropped the mic in the ring, and for a second i expected a complete heel turn on the crowd as if he suckered them all in.  But then, Jericho started smiling and celebrating all over, and things just got more and more odd.  Jericho then proceeded to hop out of the ring, slap some more hands, and then he left.  The crowd didn't know what to think, but some boos could be heard and there was a definite vibe that there was more to this story.  We were expecting a "I'm back and I'm entering the Royal Rumble" type of promo, but it was almost like Jericho was making a mockery of wrestling returns. 

As odd as all of this was, I can at least say it was different.  The idea of Jericho returning didn't really interest me all that much since it doesn't feel like he's been gone all that long.  The way things were handled at least got people talking because it was so odd and different, but it will be interesting to see where it goes from here.  I have a feeling it was Jericho himself that came up with this, since he's talked in the past about reinventing himself and keeping things interesting.  One thing is for sure, Chris Jericho is back even though we don't know why or where he stands.  What did you think of Chris Jericho's return?  Was it stupid?  Or did it make you wonder where this story is going?

MacGruber Trailer With Chris Jericho, Kane, Mark Henry, MVP, The Great Khali, and Kane!

Some may know, some may not, but SNL did a spoof of the old show, MacGyver, called MacGruber. Well I stopped watching SNL, so I can't really say for myself, but apparently it was funny enough to be turned into a feature film. The Wife and I went to see The Crazies this past weekend and they showed the trailer for it and was surprised to see many WWE superstars who are playing part of MacGrubers elite team of bad asses. Here is a screenshot of the team, and below that is the trailer for the movie. Looks like, a renter.

Is Chris Jericho Afraid?

How do you know if you are the best in the world at what you do? You win the World heavyweight Championship. That is a feat Chris Jericho has done several times, proving to the world that he is the greatest, at least for the time being. In the WWE the World Champion always has to keep looking over his shoulder because someone is coming to try and prove that they are better and take your title.



Current NXT superstar and newcomer to the WWE, Daniel Bryan, has Jericho running scared. Who is Daniel Bryan? That is what the WWE Universe is asking.



Bryan started wrestling in his backyard before attending the Texas Wrestling Alliance, wrestling school run by the Heart Break kid Shawn Michaels. Daniels went on to work for Memphis Championship Wrestling, a WWE Developmental territory until the companies parted ways. Daniel continued to work, even jobbing to guys on Velocity and Heat.



Daniel Bryan was named the "Founding Father" of Ring of Honor. He headlined the promotions debut show in a three way match with Low ki and Christopher Daniels. In September of 2005, Bryan won the Ring of Honor World Championship by defeating James Gibson at Glory by Honor IV.



Ring of Honor announced on August 23, 2009 that Bryan had signed a contract with the WWE. He was sent to Florida Championship Wrestling, a developmental territory in January of the following year, until being called up to NXT.



On the inaugural NXT show on February 23, 2010, Daniel Bryan took the World Champ to the limit in an awesome match that saw the newcomer tap out to the Walls of Jericho. During the match, Bryan hit a suicide dive from the ring to the floor onto Jericho, but he crashed into the announcers table injuring his ribs. The match may have had a different outcome if that didn't happen. That has to be in the back of Jericho's mind.



The next week on NXT, the World Champ showed he was intimidated by the newcomer by attacking him after his match. Bryan lost to fellow NXT Rookie Wade Barrett, then was once again put into the Walls of Jericho. Chris is trying to squash his competition before he has a chance to take his title.



Will Daniel Bryan be able to overcome his rib injury and if given another opportunity to step in the ring with Chris Jericho, could he beat him. The WWE Universe will have to wait and see if this rookie has what it takes to compete in the WWE.

Chris Jericho and Batista are the Champions Heading Into Wrestlemania 26

You read that right, after the Elimination Chamber PPV, Chris Jericho and Batista (who wasn't even in a chamber match) are the World and WWE Champions heading into WrestleMania. In the first Chamber match, it came down to John Cena and Triple H, and we sadly got to see Triple H tap out yet again to John Cena, crowning Cena the WWE Champion once again. But just when we thought we would get Cena main eventing Mania, Mr. McMahon comes out, and tells us Cena is on his way to Mania, IF he can defend the title right now against Batista. Batista made quick work of Cena, and is now the WWE Champion heading into WrestleMania. That was about the only surprise of the night, as in the second chamber match, Shawn Michaels interfered and caused the Undertaker to be the final man eliminated, giving the World Heavyweight Championship to Chris Jericho. So Mania is looking pretty predicable right now, and unless we get some swerves (which is highly unlikely with WWE,) the card looks like:

Chris Jericho vs. Edge for the World Title

John Cena vs. Batista for the WWE Title

Bret Hart vs. Vince McMahon (slight chance this could be made a tag with Cena/Batista)

Shawn Michaels vs. Undertaker 2

Randy Orton vs. Ted Dibiase

And possibly Triple H vs. Sheamus, with some sort of feud between the 2 being set up.

Overall a lackluster card for a WrestleMania in my opinion. No traditional Money in the Bank match this year due to WWE making the match it's own PPV. I for one am not intrigued, and don't see WWE doing anything too special this year, but I hope I'm wrong.

Chris Jericho Hit a Fan, and It Was Good

Chris Jericho lit a media fire over the weekend, over an incident that happened after a show in British Columbia over the weekend. Apparently, Jericho was trying to leave, and there was a crowd of fans watching, as is the norm at many arenas around the world, only this time, the fans got a little out of control, deciding to try and get tough with Jericho by talking too much shit, and hitting his car etc. Jericho was blocked at a stop sign, and when he got out to set things straight, some crazy bitch decided to push him and act all crazy, so Jericho knocked her ass out, haha. Yeah, think Shawn Michaels wife getting punched in the face times 5. Now Jericho was definitely provoked, so hopefully the right people will be in trouble here, but wow, when was the last time something like THIS happened? By today's standards in the wrestling world, I would have said that Chris Jericho would've gotten out of the car, and said "Hey guys, don't be mean, I'm just a bad guy for show, and all i want to do is entertain you, it's all an act." But thankfully, Chris Jericho took it old school, and showed crazy fans like these, that wrestlers are not to be F'd with, and if you try, you will have your ass handed to you, no matter if you're in a mob or not, wrestlers can handle their business believe it or not, and many wrestlers have been called more tough than athletes in other sports. I think one comment heard in the video sums it up best, a female says "I didn't know he was an ass in real life!"...and that best sums it up. In the good old days of wrestling, you KNEW guys were tough, you KNEW who was a prick, there was no question. Did anyone think Abdullah the Butcher or Bruiser Brody were acting and really just plain old guys? Uh, no, you would fear the thought of approaching them, thinking you'd get mauled and end up a bloody mess. Did anyone think Ric Flair was lying about his Rolex watches, and cars, and limos? Nope, you knew Flair was the real deal. Nowadays, there isn't a whole lot to believe in with wrestling, but thanks to Chris Jericho, there will be a few people out there who boo him because they truly he's an asshole, and the best emotion in wrestling is real emotion, and incidents like this bring the real emotion, and even a little bit of respect back to the business, so we say thank you Mr. Jericho, for showing the moron fans who take it too far, just how REAL the business can be. Apparently the jackass girl and her man were arrested, but released, and no charges have been filed yet, sadly they haven't got what they deserve....yet.

Thank You WWE, Chris Jericho is Our NEW World Heavyweight Champion!

What? How? Huh? Yes, you read the headline right, tonight at Unforgiven, in the championship scramble match that could have seen any of the 5 guys in the match come out as WWE World Champion, NONE of the scheduled guys in the match took home the gold, as an odd, out of nowhere replacement known as Chris Jericho won the title in a crazy twist. As I sat here at the Stardust Ranch watching WWE Unforgiven, the Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho match had me wondering the WHOLE time why this match wasn't the main event. Great story, great delivery, great pace, the feud can't be touched in WWE right now. HBK got a little revenge, but made it clear he still didn't get enough, and was delivering the old school vibes in a major way with this feud. Shawn Michaels won, but this great war is far from over. So as I see another great story developing, that being Randy Orton rallying the second generation stars together, namely Cody Rhodes, Ted Dibiase, and Afa Jr. (Now called Manu,) the new group kicked CM Punks ass and took him out of the main event, which did not anger me in the least. Then the speculation begins, who could replace Punk? Is Orton really ready to return and have we been worked into a situation where Orton comes out and wins? That would've been cool, but that didn't happen. Is WWE going to be typical and have NO one come out, and pull a lame title win by Batista or Mysterio, or hell ANYone else in the match? Nope not that either. Instead, we get a true "WHAT THE HELL?" reaction, when Jericho's music hits once again, and he slowly tries to make his way to the ring, selling the straight up FIGHT he just had with Michaels. With only seconds left, and Batista the current champ, Y2J slid in the ring, stole a pin, and is the NEW World Champion.....and I must say I loved it. Jericho has reinvented himself with his new heel character, and is by FAR the best heel currently on RAW, and drawing the most heat. Problem was, he was stuck in the midst of such a good story with Michaels, the heavyweight title just wasn't in the picture at the time. But somehow, for some reason, WWE threw us a curve ball, and actually shook things up, and gave the title to a guy that can carry it correctly, and draw the correct amount of heat needed. This move really shakes things up and has me interested in watching at least RAW, as they're definitely pushing new talent, and guys who are making an impact are getting titles and pushes, while lame ass boring crap is being pushed aside. Here's hoping Y2J has a great series of defenses with HBK, while Punk hopefully gets sent to TNA or ROH or something, seriously, the guy's T-shirt looks like a dress on him, I want a world champion with class, a world champion who can come out in a suit and look like a champion, i want a world champion that will bring back some real interest, enough that MAYBE some other writers could even write on this site, imagine that!

RAW Recap: 07/28/08

Here's just a short rundown of what happened at last night's Monday Night RAW:

RAW has been kicking ass lately. The plots have been thicker, the writing better, and the action more over the top. Guys like Kofi Kingston and occasionally the now solo Paul London have been adding that high flying attitude that RAW has been missing leading up to the draft. Rey Mysterio should be in there somewhere, but we've seen him like... what now? Twice?

This Santino/Beth Phoenix lovers angle is hilarious. I haven't laughed that hard at WWE in a LONG time. Santino is the acclimate performer right now. He's skilled in the ring, but at the same time great on the mic and had excellent comedic timing. He's always funny, but last night, with Beth Phoenix, I was almost to tears I was laughing so hard.

Michael Cole got his ass kicked. It was supposed to be Jerry Lawler and Hacksaw Jim Duggan against the World Tag Team Champs, with the straps on the line, but at the last minute a referee ran in with a note from the new GM that replaced Hacksaw with Michael Cole. King got taken out of the match, and Michael Cole got clobbered by Cody Rhodes. So Michael Cole was out for the rest of the show, and that's always good. Though they did bring out Mike Adamle to fill in, and that's always bad. Mike Adamle is a moron.

Earlier in the night Shane McMahon said we would see CM Punk squaring off against one of the most technical free agents in the business, and that turned out to be William Regal making his return, in a weird singlet. Though no mention of him being KOTR and only a quick mention of him being GM before. Punk won, but not before William Regal broke his nose accidentally. Cheers to Regal!

Mickie James won against the ugly blond who sings a lot. I can't remember her name, because this is usually when I go take my evening #2. Katie Lea jumped Mickie at the end though, and demanded a shot at Summerslam.

Out next was Jericho for the Final Highlight Reel. Jericho played a couple of his old funny clips, and said the true career he ended was not HBK... it was Y2J. Jericho said we could all say goodbye to Y2J and the old Chris Jericho. He demanded a shot at CM Punk's title, and told Shawn Michaels to stay home and get some rest.

JR is now coming to ringside, and he says "I don't know why I'm here, I should be on my way to Hershey, Pennsylvania for Smackdown. I was told to be here." King and Adamle don't know either. Mike Adamle keeps insisting he was told to be there too, and it's obvious he would have to replace Michael Cole.

Promo airs saying Shawn Michaels will be live via satellite next week. WWE jumping the shark yet again.

At this point, I was expecting we're gonna get a good Summerslam WHT match. You have 6 guys wanting it. CM Punk has it, Batista, Cena, Kane, JBL, and now Jericho all wants shots. The HITC is already going to be hanging over the ring at Summerslam, so they can't do an Elimination Chamber, so I think they might do a 6-man HITC.

Boy was I wrong.

Big mainevent, Cena and Batista beat JBL and Kane in a tag team match. I bet those guys were tired since they practically had the same match, a couple hours earlier when they pretaped the SNME show.

It's 11:15 and here comes Shane McMahon to introduce the new RAW GM. I'm hoping and praying for Bischoff................... but no.

On camera we didn't see who got up and climbed in to the ring, but as Shane McMahon looked to the back to introduce the GM, we all waited, and when no one came out, Shane turned to the ring and said "Your new RAW General Manager is..." the camera pans to the ring to see who's standing behind Cena and Batista.... "MIKE ADAMLE!"

WHAT?!

MIKE ADAMLE?!

WHAT?!

Cena and Batista look legitimately shocked, with Cena even laughing at one point and saying "is this a joke?" I wish it was a joke... but no... it looks like Mike Adamle is the new RAW GM.

.... and just when RAW was getting so good.

Ron Paul a Chris Jericho fan??

Where did this come from?? Is it Ron Paul himself coming to save us?!?

WWE Armageddon: Afterthoughts

Last night, WWE Armageddon went down live from Pittsburgh, PA (where earlier in the day my Jaguars stomped all over the Steelers), and the night saw several impressive performances, and even a couple shockers.

The first match of the night would see MVP facing off against Rey Mysterio with the US title on the line. MVP would manage to squeak by, losing by way of count out, but keeping his title in the process.

Afterthought: Where do they go from here? MVP is established as a tweener, but this is his latest in many lackluster feuds. It's time to get the US strap off of him, and get him involved in something mainevent status. I think he could pull it off.

Match numero dos came to use from the ECW front, as CM Punk and Kane squared off against Big Daddy V and Mark Henry. As to be expected, V and Henry put the squash on, with BDV pinning Punk.

Afterthought: Lame. Punk didn't belong in this "feud" to begin with. ECW in itself is really an afterthought. I can't even tell you the last time I watched it. Which channel is Sci-Fi?

The third match of the night had all the makings to be an instant classic, and really in my opinion should have been saved for closer to Wrestlemania - because it featured my two favorite RAW superstars, Mr. Kennedy and Shawn Michaels going one on one. Unfortunately for Mr. K, Shaw Michaels never fails to impress, as he landed some SCM for the win.

Afterthought: Definitely an instant classic. Too bad it was on an Armageddon.

Match four was for a WWE title shot at the Royal Rumble, and it saw former allies Triple H and Jeff Hardy squaring off. Surprising to me and everyone else, Jeff Hardy pulled out the win, with a quick flip over pin. WWE.com states that HHH isn't to happy, and could be looking for revenge tonight.

Afterthought: I don't expect to see Jeff Hardy facing anyone for the WWE Championship at the Rumble. I Do expect to see Triple H somehow win that shot away from him. Who knows where this one is going?

Up next was The Great Khali versus Finlay, and in Fin's corner - Hornswoggle! Believe it or not, after a lowblow from Hornswoggle, Finlay nails Khali with a second shillelagh and gets the pin!

Afterthough: Whaaaaaa. This was a take a piss match.

Next, Chris Jericho finally returned, and in doing so he claimed a shot at Randy Orton's WWE title. He didn't win a shot, he just came back and said he was taking one. I guess that's good enough? Anyways, just when it looked like Jericho had the match in the bag, with Orton locked in the Walls of Jericho, JBL came out of nowhere and delivered a vicious kick right to the side of Jericho's head! The referee calls for the bell and Jericho is awarded the DQ victory, but what the hell?

Afterthought: WHAT THE FUCK?! Where did JBL come from, and WHY?! Rumors are he attacks Jericho again on the Christmas in Iraq special, which airs on Christmas Eve. Man oh man, now there's a feud I wouldn't mind seeing. Guess Jericho is going to Smackdown? They need him!

Women's title match. Who gives a shit. The big blonde bitch beats the lesbian bitch, retains her title.

Afterthought: Mickie James has massive labia.

MAINEVENT: Triple Threat match for the World Heavyweight Title. Edge vs Undertaker vs Batista. In the second big "shocker" of the night, Edge came away with his second World Title win, after using two DECOY EDGES (the Major Brothers) to distract Undertaker and Batista! Surprising, I know.

Afterthought: Holy Shit Three Edges?! I guess it's better than Batista as champ - cuz he sucks.

Well that's it, another WWE pay per view in the bag. Almost time for the Road to Wrestlemania to begin, and you can expect all the late-breaking news leading up to the big night right here at Ultra Wrestling Roundup!

Jericho Will Be Back Tonight. Raw Preview

In cause you have been under a rock for the past couple months. Chris Jericho returns to the WWE tonight on Raw.

After a brutal night of battles at Survivor Series, sunny Fort Lauderdale, Fla., will feel the fallout when Monday Night Raw emanates from the Bank Atlantic Center.

Randy Orton retained the WWE Championship at Survivor Series, defeating Shawn Michaels. What will the WWE Champion have to say about his victory? And will HBK be looking to settle the score (or earn a rematch)?

With Raw's Triple H and Jeff Hardy surviving the tri-branded Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match, will opposing team captain Umaga be on the rampage, seeking revenge for his humiliation?

And finally, after months of sleuthing by fans and cyber-cryptologists, what will happen when the billions of lines of binary code are finally broken and deciphered?

WWE Magazine Spoils Chris Jericho's Return to RAW

Can WWE really be this stupid???

WWE has confirmed the return of Chris Jericho before it actually happened. The latest issue of WWE Magazine features Chris Jericho on the cover with the tag line “Chris Jericho: The real story behind Y2J’s shocking return”. On the cover photo Jericho is shown plugging in two power cables. The magazine will hit newsstands later next week.

As we have been reporting for over a week, WWE decided to go forward with plans to bring Jericho back on the November 19th edition of RAW (one night after Survivor Series). This became pretty clear during the Save_Us videos that aired on WWE television last night as the videos all but confirmed Jericho was coming to RAW next Monday.

Chris Jericho is starting to piss me off.

Chris Jericho was on the "Bubba The Love Sponge" radio show on Sirius Satellite Radio this morning. Jericho sidestepped any questions regarding his WWE return and said you can see him on his book tour. He did however mention that people have came up to him and said they have stayed home from work to order Cyber Sunday and asked him why he wasn’t at RAW in Philadelphia. Now see, this is where I start to get pissed. Both myself, and a lot of my friends spent money and ordered the last two pay per views, expecting to see Chris - and nothing happened. Now, either this is some huge stunt by WWE to trick us all in to ordering pay per views that in past years have had horrible buyrates, or it's some lame ass return, that's been so stretched out, now nobody cares anymore.

Bubba said that Jericho’s return is the worst kept secret in the business. He then talked about when TNA President Dixie Carter was on the show a few weeks ago and mentioned WWE’s deal with Chris. Chris and Bubba then joked about him signing a million dollar a year deal with TNA.

Chris went on to talk about his backstage fight with Goldberg, his book, and Chris Benoit.

Could Jericho be returning tonight at the Smackdown taping?

He may have spent most of his life living in Winnipeg, but World Wrestling Entertainment writers just didn't like the idea of wrestling hero Chris Jericho being billed from the Great White North.

"They didn't want guys to be from Canada if they were good guys," said Jericho, 37, recalling the policy change about three years ago. "So I said, 'Why don't you just say Manhasset?' That's at least where I was born."

Tonight promises to be a homecoming on two different fronts for Jericho. Not only will he be signing copies of his recently published memoirs, "A Lion's Tale: Around the World in Spandex" at the Carle Place Barnes & Noble at 5 p.m., but he is rumored to be making his return to the ring after a two-year hiatus at the Nassau Coliseum for a taping of WWE's "Smackdown!" program.

"I never had any intentions of retiring. I just needed to take a step back," said Jericho, who spent his time off touring with his band, Fozzy, and doing some acting. But Jericho said writing a book, "helped me to remember the passion and the love that I had for the [wrestling] business."

"A Lion's Tale," which details Jericho's journey from a childhood Hulk Hogan fan through honing his craft in Mexico, Japan and, eventually, making it to the WWE, has drawn solid early reviews, including from Publishers Weekly, which called the book "Funny, insightful and compulsively readable."

Tonight's WWE event is the first on Long Island since controversy struck WWE when authorities say Chris Benoit killed his wife, son and himself in June. Jericho writes plenty about his close friend and mentor, in his book, which he completed more than a month before the deaths. In an addendum, Jericho addresses the incident, but otherwise left his remembrances of Benoit intact.

"He was involved so much in my life and especially in my early career, that you couldn't just edit this guy out," said Jericho. "It would be compromising my story."

Jericho, who moved to Canada when he was 5, has few memories of growing up on Long Island, but said performing here is always special.

"It's still always neat to see these words on a street sign of "Manhasset," and know that's what's on my birth certificate."

Update on the Jericho, WWE Viral Campaign, Cyber Sunday situation.

First and foremost, go check out http://www.savior-self.com/, or http://www.saveus-222.com/ Look at the countdown clock. Where it is right now, has it ending at 10:30pm tonight. So it's pretty much a lock that something is going down post-WWE title match tonight. Whether it's Jericho or not is still kind of up in the air. Here's what Jericho said about a WWE return:

You know, I can honestly say that I don't know for sure when, but I will tell you as well that even if I did I'm a magician. I keep my secrets and my tricks to myself, and I like that. I think it's one of the things I've always enjoyed about wrestling. And once again, going back to the way I was when I was a fan, I don't think it's fair or good for fans to know everything. And as much as it's great to have technology and it's cool that people know [more], I think it's also cool when people don't know, and that's something I've worked very hard to make sure that...it's still good to be surprised. And I think that everyone will agree with me that in a day and age where people know things before they happen, I don't think that anyone is going to know my story until it happens. And I think people in a vacuum would rather have it that way.
So where does that leave tonight? It's entirely possible that the clock could be Edge, though it wouldn't make much sense at all. All signs have pointed to Jericho from day one, so for it to be anyone other than him would be really be shocking. I'll be disappointed if it's just Edge. WWE needs someone like Jericho back, more than they need Edge to return early. Plus, I can't see them devoting a campaign like this to Edge.

-- We have very interesting news, more evidence that Chris Jericho is returning soon. Based on information gathered from a WHOIS search, savior-self.com and saveus-222.com are registered to Joseph Perkins from Entertainment Services based out of Stamford, CT.

Joseph Perkins is a director for WWE. The following is news release from 2000 mentioning Perkins:

Joseph Perkins has been a Director since 1999 and is a member of the Audit and Compensation Committees. Mr. Perkins was a pioneer in the television syndication of wrestling matches and is President of Communication Consultants, Inc.

Now with the link with Perkins, WWE, and the SAVE_US domain websites it clearly is an indication that they have major plans for Chris Jericho's return. From my knowledge after studying years of marketing, it looks like the WWE marketing department has found other methods of advertisement instead of the traditional on-air Titontron with the Save_Us.222 and Save_Us.x29. It is something like what the team at Transformers did with the sector 7 website. Same idea but marketing a completely different product.

Now as many of you know, rumors have surfaced for a month or so that Chris Jericho is making his return to WWE. What I just reported is something to take into consideration but nothing is guaranteed. However, one thing is for sure. If they put so much time and effort to creating websites and putting links on WWE.com to the save_us campaign, it will be something huge.
To say WWE don't have their creative minds in the right place with this would be wrong. They're doing a great job, and I just hope they pull through at the end, and don't have an 11th hour screw up. I'd expect tonight's pay per view to have massive buyrates. People want to see where this is ending.

CHRIS JERICHO TO RETURN TONIGHT?!

Chris Jericho has been interviewed on several radio shows in the past week to promote his upcoming book release. During the interviews, Jericho has been asked about his heavily rumored return to WWE. Each time, Jericho responds with vaugue and even misleading statements.

Contrary to what Jericho would like us to believe, reliable sources confirm that the plan is for Jericho to return to WWE at Cyber Sunday. However, if USA Network President Bonnie Hammer has her way, Jericho will return on an episode of RAW before the Pay-Per-view.

Bonnie Hammer has been very outspoken to WWE management about RAW's declining ratings. She has made countless storyline suggestions to WWE's creative team, none of which have been used.

It's already been a very busy month for wrestling news and there's no question that Chris Jericho's possible return to WWE is one of the top stories right now. London's Daily Star newspaper interviewed the former WWE superstar and asked him to address those rumors.

Here's what Chris Jericho said about returning to WWE:

You never know. I did it before and I can do it again. I've been gone for two years and that's a lifetime in wrestling. I seem to be caught in a controversial buzz at the moment. I'm a little confused as there's a lot of speculation but as always in these situations I'm the last to know.

These stories seem to swim around every three to four months since I left WWE. It's good to know fans are bringing my name up - there's nothing wrong with people talking about Chris Jericho. I always said if I were to go back I would only go if I could make a difference and be better than ever.

I don't have to come back at all, certainly not financially. I want to have some fun, be different and be better. I walked away on my own terms, so it's good to see I still have as much leeway two years later.

WWE No Mercy Recap, Review, and Thoughts by RV

Well this is the first time I sat and watched a WWE program in quite some time. Mainly because Cena is no where to be found. Thanks god. Anyways on with the thoughts on each match...

Orton vs HHH Part 1.
Groaned big time, yaa hoo HHH title reign again woop de fuckin do, but I knew the night was far from over so I stayed optimistic.

Kennedy Cade and Murdoch vs Jeff Hardy Kendrick and London.
Bagh. Kennedy kicks ass but WWE fuckin threw him away. Way to go WWE. Jeff Hardy is fat. And you can obviously tell his high flying days are over. Ho hum match.

CM Punk vs Big Daddy V.
CM Punk is the most overrated fuckass out of the bunch. Why are so many people going crazy over him? He has a fucking Pepsi tattoo for gods sake. And V needs a fucking bra to support those extra large deep dish pizza tits.

Matt Hardy vs MVP Pizza Eating Contest

Interesting finish but having a no contest ending at something I paid 40 bucks to watch is fucking stupid.

Beth Phoenix looks like Chyna and Molly Holly had a baby.

Batista vs Khali.
Holy fucking shit talk about boring. Michael Cole said the most retarded line ever when Khali was on his way to the ring. "Khali is my odds on favorite to regain the world title." Um being that Khali is the only challenge in the match that by default makes him an odds on favorite since he is the only one that can regain the title. Moron. And I love how JBL and Cole hyped up this TERRIFYING AND HORROR OF A MATCH that was slow, boring and had no blood. How can something with RAZOR SHARP SPIKES producer not a single drop of blood? Worst match ever.

Orton vs HHH Part 2.
Fucking finally an interesting and decent damn main event on a PPV. Thank fucking GOD! Orton is the new champ, Cena is gone. All is well in the kingdom again.

Closing Thoughts.
Glad Orton is the champ. Cena being gone made the PPV more interesting to watch. Would have been nice to have a Jericho tease at the very end since that was the main reason I ordered this. All in all. I will be tuning into Raw tomorrow. Hopefully ratings will go up in Cenas absence and WWE will see how much people hate him.

WWE: No Mercy tonight on Pay Per View

No Mercy is tonight and fans are still kept in the dark about what the main event is going to be. All we know is that there will be a new WWE Heavyweight Champion.

Last Minute Decision

There's a reason why WWE has yet to reveal what the main event WWE Heavyweight Championship match for tonight's No Mercy pay per view is; they don't know yet. This will be a last minute decision.

Usually, it's pretty foolish to have a pay per view without an announced main event, but the Chris Jericho hype will get people to shell out money in hopes that he does make his much anticipated return tonight.

Chris Jericho vs Randy Orton

While the majority of wrestling fans have already accepted it as a fact, Chris Jericho still is not officially with WWE. A signing that big wouldn't be kept a secret. It'd be virtually impossible to keep it a secret.

This is not a dream match by any means, but it would get people interested in wrestling again. Chris Jericho is that damn popular.

There's a dilemma with putting the WWE Heavyweight Championship on Chris Jericho.

It goes against WWE's way of doing business. It's rare to see a fresh face being handed the belt immediately. Carlito and Santino Marella were two guys that were able to pull off the feat, but those were the WWE United States Heavyweight Championship and the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

Umaga vs Triple H vs Randy Orton

This is the most likely match to happen tonight at No Mercy.

Triple H and Umaga are already engaged in a feud. They're basically the second highest feud on the Raw brand, so it wouldn't be much of a stretch to bump these two into the main event scene. They have enough credibility.

Plus, WWE can continue to push Randy Orton's character as being a guy who is willing to do anything to get his hands on the title by having Umaga and Vince McMahon help screw Triple H out of the title.

Randy Orton vs Undertaker

This is a very real possibility, especially when you consider how odd it is that Undertaker isn't currently involved in a feud or a match at No Mercy.

Sure, the annoucement was made that Undertaker and Kane are scheduled for a tag team title match against Matt Hardy and MVP at next week's episode of Smackdown, but that could simply be a swerve to throw fans off. There's really no reason why that match isn't booked for No Mercy right now.

It makes a lot of sense to put Undertaker on Monday Night Raw right now as the WWE Heavyweight Champion. There's a lack of main event faces on the show right now because Shawn Michaels, John Cena, and Bobby Lashley are injured. Plus, there's already a handful of heels (Mr Kennedy, Snitsky, Randy Orton, Umaga, and potentially King Booker if he comes back) for Undertaker to face.

Closing Thoughts

Oddly enough, John Cena's injury has inadvertently caused No Mercy to generate a lot more interest than it normally would.

Is John Cena Injured? Will Orton be the next Champ? What about Jericho?

It certainly seems that way, after Cena began favoring his right arm last night during his match with Mr. Kennedy. WWE is proceeding this morning as if WWE Champion John Cena does indeed have a torn right pectoral muscle that he suffered during his match last night on RAW against the returning Ken Kennedy. Cena is scheduled to meet with Dr. James Andrews today in Birmingham, Alabama for a full medical checkup to determine the exact severity of the injury. WWE will adjust the No Mercy PPV depending on his medical status.

There is a lot of concern inside the WWE locker room as if his pectoral muscle is indeed torn; normal rehabilitation time is four months. Cena is considered one of the top guys in the company and a severe injury such as this is a huge blow to WWE. For those that do not remember, Edge suffered a torn left pectoral muscle back in July and that is why he has been out of action.

So what does that mean for RAW and the WWE Championship? If Cena is indeed injured, there's no doubt he'll fight through the pain and wrestle on Sunday anyway - however, it almost seems a sure thing we'll be seeing a new Champion walk out of No Mercy!


Speaking of No Mercy, another of the now infamous viral videos aired last night, only this time they pointed almost definitely at Shawn Michaels. The video, entitled 8.2.11/Savior_Self, had many clues pointing not at Jericho last week, but rather at Shawn Michaels. The clue most convincing for everyone is that 8, 2, and 11 are the alphanumeric versions of H, B, and K. With No Mercy this weekend, the only sure thing is that we don't have to wait much longer to find out.

Chris Jericho = Ratings

So I'm sitting here eating biscuits, and I'm reading all about this video that was shown on Raw that has a bunch of cryptic messages in it. God bless the internet, otherwise I wouldn’t know of such a video. I don’t watch the WWE anymore, you see. I stopped watching it whenever all of my old favourites started to drop out, and the new breed sprang up out of nowhere with the sole purpose of annoying my head. I don’t care who Randy Orton is. I root for Matt Hardy because he’s one of the few familiar names I see popping up in these wrestling related websites. I believe that I stopped watching the WWE sometime in 2003, because everything was strange and unusual. People were leaving, due to injury and the strange belief that acting in a film is the same as cutting an insulting promo about the Coach. Bring back the old names! Not in a bad, “one last run and then that’s me finished, oh alright then, a few more runs after that” kind of way. I mean in a spectacular, blow you out of your socks kind of way. That, unfortunately, didn’t look like it was going to happen for a long, long time.

Well, until these delightfully cryptic messages sprang up. Once people caught wind of a video that made no sense, it was a sure bet that some internet guys were going to pick it apart and find every single piece of cryptic crap they could find hidden within. And they really found a whole lot of info with this little video, all sorts of stupid, “at first glance this makes no sense!” kinds of messages. I mean, right off the top of your head, what does “cd_volume4_1.act” mean to you? That’s right, nothing. Or “SaveUs.222”? It doesn’t mean anything until somebody else analyses it, and then you go “Ohh! Yeah, I get it now.” I saw the Matrix style video myself (check it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8E_GETL9oEw ) and probably like you've just done now (assuming you've clicked that link and watched the video) I thought "how interesting. " in a sarcastic manner. The WWE hasn’t managed to do anything to interest me in a long, long time, and a crappy old Matrix-style video didn’t do much to get me to pay attention.

So like it was expected, the people who read far too much into stuff decided to read far too much into the video, pausing it frame by frame, dissecting it carefully and drawing their own conclusions due to their careful observations and their “facts” that relate to the gibberish seen in the video. They came to the conclusion that this is a video hyping the return of Chris Jericho. Alright there WWE, you have my attention. Don’t fuck it up this time, yeah? Apparently “SaveUs.222” has to do with the fact that Jericho used to refer to himself as the saviour of the WWE, and the “222” section is apparently a Biblical reference. I cant remember what it said, but predictably it said something about Jericho. And the “cd_volume4_1.act” is about the 4th Volume of the WWE Music CD’s, where coincidentally Chris Jericho’s music is track number one. Again, God bless the internet for figuring all this stuff out so I don’t have to.

The point is, should all these clever little rumours be true, and then this is just the shot in the arm that the WWE needs. As amazing as you say John Cena and Randy Orton are, the appearance of Chris Jericho is much bigger than both of them, to me anyway. Chris Jericho is the perfect example of how the WWE can bugger up anybody. Chris Jericho was awesome. One of my favourite matches of all time has to be the classic "Benoit vs Jericho" ladder match at Royal Rumble 2001. Chris was clearly one of the most popular faces in 2001, I’d wager second only to the Rock. Once he turned heel, he gained so much heat, and won the title that he had craved for so long, and deservedly so. His title reign was excellent because it played him as a heel perfectly, stealing wins until he faced the one nemesis he could never beat: Triple H. And so, after he lost to the Game, began his downward spiral. After 2002, apparently he was still on the payroll of the WWE. APPARENTLY he didn’t take his hiatus until 2005. I didn’t even notice. He slid down the card so fast; it felt like his previous title reign meant nothing. Within the space of a few months he was chasing the Intercontinental championship again. Clearly the WWE didn’t value him as much as they should have.

Fast forward to 2007, where things are not exactly going well for the WWE. The Benoit tragedy threw many storylines out of the window, and the illegitimate son angle bombed after it was revealed it was the leprechaun. They need something huge to get people to care again, and Chris Jericho is that something huge. If Chris Jericho the second time is half as popular as he was the first time, then there is hope of seeing the heavyweight championship on somebody who isn’t called John Cena. Of course, this is the WWE we’re talking about, so while the possibility of a returning Chris Jericho is incredibly interesting, the thought of a mid card, floundering, nowhere to go, fodder to Triple H AGAIN 2008 Jericho does not sound very interesting at all. You’ve got a good thing here, WWE. Don’t make it the leprechaun again, for the love of Christ.
