Wrestlezone Strikes Again

The brilliant minds over at Wrestlezone.com have a little "Did you know?" trivia blurb they throw up on the side of their site. Today, Did you know....

" Jerry Lawler was 23 time USWA Champion."

Oh Wrestlezone, your ways with words are fun to read. So Lawler was a 23 time champion... but he's not anymore? How come he isn't a 23 time champion anymore? Or do you mean he IS a 23 time champion? Damn you Wrestelzone for confusing me. Maybe Ryan Clark will hit our comment section with his shitty ways of spelling and we can decipher what exactly they mean by WAS a 23 time champion.

Royal Rumble Shocker: John Cena Wins!

In one of the most shocking Royal Rumble finishes of all time, John Cena returned to the ring and won the coveted match. He is now the 2nd man to win the Rumble while entering at number 30. Now the former WWE Champion has earned a title match at Wrestlemania. Although it is not confirmed, you can pretty much bet the farm on John Cena going after the WWE Title to exact his revenge on Randy Orton.

Great News! Bobby Lashley Gone!!!!

That's right! Negroberg is gone from the WWE! Thank fucking GOD! I hated this idiot from day 1. Now if John Cena would just follow, the world would be a better place.

Lashley had this to say...
I am sorry to everyone here but I am serious when I say I won't be back. Everyone wants to come here and hear the real story and I am telling you the real story. Circumstances which are out of my control left me no decision but to leave the WWE. I can't go into details of this now but like I said before sometimes people will hate you personally and try to destroy you which has happened here. Evil has prevailed however like I said before if you continue your struggle doors will open around these people. You have not scene the last of me so please don't stop your support. Add Bobby Lashley to the list of RECENTLY RELEASED!

All 3 WWE Shows to debut new sets next week!

The reason why Triple H destroyed the titantron on last night’s edition of RAW is because this week was the final week for that particular RAW set. As we reported several days ago and WWE confirmed today, all three brands will be debuting new sets in preparation for their new High Definition programming next week.

The Big Show Returning?

Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter

We reported earlier that The Wrestling Observer Newsletter had noted a big name of WWE's past - a multi-champion superstar was set to return with the company.

The January 14th edition of the Newsletter confirms that former multi-time WWE Champion Paul Wight - The Big Show - has either signed with the company or has agreed to a deal, and will be starting full-time very soon.

Big Show is down to 440 lbs after leaving pro wrestling to rest, and pursue a possible career in boxing, which obviously included boxing training that got him in quite a good shape. Dave Meltzer also mentions in the Observer that a part of his boxing deal was that Hulk Hogan was to be his "front man" acting like a manager in wrestling for him by doing promos and appearances. This was also the main reason many boxing promoters were actually interested in Big Show and paying him so much money to learn the sport. These plans, however, fell apart at some point, and Show realized that at his age, boxing might not be the right direction to go anyway. There have also been no recent updates or even talks of Hogan doing his own wrestling tour - a very discussed topic of the past. Hence with nothing on the horizon, Big Show is back with WWE.

Former World Champion Coming To WWE?

Pro Wrestling Insider is reporting that a former multi-time world champion has signed to return to WWE. No word yet on who the signee is.

Dave Meltzer is reporting that this return is none other than 2-time for TNA World Champion Ron "The Truth" Killings. We here at UWR will continue to follow this story until "The Truth" comes out.

TNA Star Jumping Ship?

Apparently "Wildcat" Chris Harris has yet to officially sign his WWE contract, but has agreed to contractual terms. The deal between Harris and WWE, negotiated by his agent, is completed.

TNA is downplaying the signing, and spinning it as if he was a crybaby and an attitude problem, and that they don’t care he is leaving the promotion. TNA had apparently not realized his contract lapsed or simply thought WWE would not want him.

WWE has been fielding overtures from TNA talent (or their representatives), so it wouldn’t be surprising to see other TNA departures for Stamford, CT.

Chris Harris will be leaving behind his former tag team partner James Storm, who just signed a new contract recently.

UPDATE:
The rumors surrounding Chris Harris leaving TNA are rampant, and as they say, there's no smoke without fire. Steve Gerweck is now reporting that Harris has quit TNA officially. He is believed to have worked out a good contract with WWE and won't go to development.

BREAKING NEWS: TNAWrestling.com has posted a story about Chris Harris' departure, so it is now offical. Within the next few months, we will see the "Wildcat" in the WWE.

Ron Paul a Chris Jericho fan??

Where did this come from?? Is it Ron Paul himself coming to save us?!?

Wrestlezone Loves Wrestlemania!

"The Wrestlemania 2010 hockey jersey that Wayne Gretzky was wearing was not officially made by WWE, but rather it is just another piece of the ongoing campaign to get WM 2010 in Phoenix, Arizona. If the show is held in the city, it will likely be at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, which will be hosting the Super Bowl this year. Gretzky is obviously pulling for the event to come to Phoenix, since it is the home of his team the Phoenix Coyotes."

Ever since I called Ryan Clark out on posting Maria In Playboy posts more than 10 times in 1 week, they stopped, and I got curious. I never read Wrestlezone, only time I do is when some friends pass along stupid crap that Wrestlezone posts. Well I decided to find stuff for myself, and well, it is true. After reading Wrestlezone for 2 days, I have read at the very least 5 reports of Wrestlemania in Phoenix AZ in 2010. Good to see Ryan Clark keeping up the good work on posting the same useless information over, and over, and over again. Go Ryan!

WWE Superstars Kane and Val Venis endorse Ron Paul!

A small note, 2008 Republican Presidential Candidate Ron Paul has officially listed Glen Jacobs (a/k/a Kane) and Sean Morley (a/k/a Val Venis) as celebrity endorsers.

I love it. It's cool to see the guys using their voices for something other than putting over Vince. I find it pretty funny that a guy who portrays a rapist/parent murderer is endorsing a republican.. but hey, what do I know?

As for Venis... well, isn't he a porn star in character?

It's a thing of beauty.

Update on the Nancy Benoit Nude Hustler Spread.

-- We reported a few weeks ago that nude photos of the late Nancy Benoit would be appearing in the March 2008 issue of Hustler Magazine. Subscribers of the publication of now received the issue featuring Benoit. The following is an excerpt from her two-page spread:

"Back when Nancy was ready to take everything off for the camera, her future had yet to be written. The Nancy of yore was merely an innocent young woman seeking an opportunity to model, not a world of freakish pranks, demonic gimmicks, and insidious steroids. One can only imagine what fate would have had in store had she continued her quest to become a model..."

The photos were taken before she got into wrestling. Nancy was doing bikini and wet t-shirt competitions in Florida when somebody approached her with an offer to be in Penthouse. She did a photoshoot, which was video taped. Nancy never submitted the photos and later had them destroyed, but the video tape was never destroyed and that is the source of the Hustler pictures.

Wrestlezone Reports VERY old news, then gets all mad

So once again, I am passed along something that Wrestlezone reported. Usually, Wrestlezone will report on the same exact news bit over, and over, and over. I am sure you can probably head over there and read at the very least 7 times on their main page that Maria posed for Playboy. Anyways this is just hilarious. Wrestlezone writes....

"Howard Stern ripped on Hulk Hogan today. Stern said that Hogan gave Bubba from Bubba The Love Sponge a big, ugly glass bowl for his wedding and that it was tacky and he should have sent him money instead of a cheap gift like that. Stern claimed that Linda picked out the gift."

Now, the funny thing about this is, this was either reported Tuesday or Wednesday, of this week. Howard Stern has been making fun of Hulk Hogan for this wedding gift for OVER A YEAR now. I listen to Howard Stern damn near every morning on my way into work, and last year I would hear him mocking Hogan for the shitty gift while driving my nephew to school. Well, over a year later, Wrestlezone reports it. Way to keep on top of news Wrestlezone. Oh, and who was the great writer that reported this? None other than Ryan Clark. Who is also behind many, many idiotic writings on their site. Such as 17 Maria Posed For Playboy reports.

Well, I email Wrestlezone pointing out that the Howard Stern bit is over a year old, and to get rid of Ryan Clark, well RYAN CLARK HIMSELF responds with this bit of genius wit... "Fuck off, keep reading my news daily, kid." Wow, he sure told me. So I write back to inform him that I don't actually read his shitty site. And was passed the Stern article by a friend. Well, Ryan once again, comes back with the greatest wit in the world. Keep in mind, this is a writer for a news site.

"You'll be allright, you'll read when you want news you pathetic peice of shit. Go somewhere, I'm through with your bitch ass. Thanks for supporting me."

Go somewhere. LOL where the fuck am I supposed to go? I have heard of, Go To Hell, but to just, go somewhere. I think my favorite bit of this email is the fact that Mr. Head Writer has no idea how to spell alright, or piece. So how about you go somewhere Ryan, like, the third grade to learn how to spell simple words?

Keep up the good work Ryan! Oh hey, did you know Maria posed in Playboy?

UPDATE: I sent ol Ryan Clark a link to this article, in which he emailed me back with an amazing email.

"Blow me, bitch. We're done."

Yup, he spelled everything right that time! Kudos to Ryan! But now that he broke up with me, I guess he can go back to, writing about Maria posing for Playboy. You know she was doing that right?

Did Wayne Gretzky spoil Wrestlemania location?

Hockey Legend "The Great One" Wayne Gretzky is featured in an interview for the Swedish newspaper Expressen that was published on Sunday. In a photo enclosed in the article you can see Gretzky wearing a shirt showcasing the WrestleMania logo and the slogan "Destruction in The Desert," which would indicate that Wrestlemania 2010 will be held in Phoenix, Arizona. (Fuck you Random Villain) Gretzky has ties to the Phoenix area as he is currently the part-owner and head coach of the NHL's Phoenix Coyotes.

You can see the photo in this article on the Swedish newspaper's website.

Don't expect to be able to actually read anything. Those Swede's have some funny talk.

Raw, Is, HIGH DEF!

This is fantastic news as I have pretty much gone 100% HD. I have started upgrading all my DVDs to Blu Ray and HD, as I own both players. And now comes word that this month, WWE will air Raw and Smackdown as well as all PPVs in High Def. Rumor has it that the next Raw will be on the USA HD channel but other sources say Raw wont start to be in HD until Jan 21st. Either way, this alone makes me want to tune back into WWE programming.

WWE Smackdown and ECW Taping Spoilers

ECW Dark Matches

- Nunzio defeated Nick Nemeth, who talked a lot of crap on the mic before the match.

- The Great Khali defeated Tommy Dreamer.

ECW Tapings:

- ECW opened with a video of CM Punk and Chavo Guerrero. Armando Estra brought out Chavo Guerrero. Chavo came out, cut a promo, talking trash about CM Punk. CM Punk came out and Estrada signed the two to a match later on and if Chavo won, he would be the #1 contender for the ECW Championship.

- John Morrison, The Miz and Layla vs. Shannon Moore, Jimmy Wang and Kelly Kelly. The team of Moore, Wang and Kelly got the win via pinfall.

- Tazz interviewed Colin Delaney about having his first match with Shelton Benjamin on ECW a few weeks back. The guy said since the loss to Shelton, he has gotten better. Tazz introduced his opponent for tonight, Big Daddy V. Big Daddy squashed the guy in a quick match.

- CM Punk vs. Chavo Guerrero, if Chavo wins he is the #1 contender to Punk's title. This was a pretty good match, probably the best of the night. Punk got the win via count out so Chavo isn't the #1 contender.

- SmackDown starts after the ECW tapings with Teddy Long pushing Vickie Guerrero to the ramp. Teddy introduces Jonathan Coachman as the new color commentator to sit beside Michael Cole. They announce the Beat the Clock competitors for the night, which is Batista, Undertaker, Finlay and Mysterio.

- Finlay vs. MVP in the first Beat the Clock challenge match. Finlay gets the win after Hornswoggle hands him the shillelagh. Finlay hits MVP and gets the pin.

- Chuck Palumbo and Michelle McCool vs. Victoria and Kenny Dykstra. Victoria hits the Widow's Peak on McCool for the pinfall. Afterwards, Chuck acts like a heel and yells at Michelle.

- Chavo is shown backstage in Vickie's office. Chavo says she has disgraced the Guerrero family and talks about how he missed the old times. Vickie puts Chavo in the Beat the Clock matches against Funaki.

- Chavo Guerrero vs. Funaki. Chavo gets the win and beats Finlay's time.

- Batista vs. The Edgeheads (former Major Brothers). Batista fails to beat the time set by Chavo and the match ends in a draw.

- Deuce and Domino vs. Jimmy Wang and Shannon Moore. Moore got the pinfall over Domino

- The Undertaker vs. Matt Stryker in a Beat the Clock challenge match. Stryker says he will not be wrestling but will be the special referee and introduces Mark Henry as Taker's opponent. Undertaker dominates Henry but after a chokeslam, Stryker stops counting at 2 and lets the clock run out. The match ends in a draw

- Rey Mysterio vs. Edge w/ The Edgeheads in a Beat the Clock match. Batista comes down, destroys the Edgeheads and stares down Edge before leaving to the back. The lights go out, and The Undertaker appears. Lights go back off and come on with Edge already setup for the 619. Rey hits it and pins Edge to beat the clock. Rey Mysterio is the new #1 contender to Edge's title.

Dark Match Main Event

- Edge and Batista wrestle for the World Heavyweight Title and the match ends in a DQ when Edge punches Batista below the belt. Batista wins by DQ. Undertaker then comes out and he and Batista clear the ring of Edge and his Edgeheads.
---------------------------

I gotta say, I am REALLY disappointed with Coachman going to Smackdown. Don't get me wrong, I'm completely psyched that JBL is back in-ring, and feuding with Jericho, but I fucking love Coach on RAW. The character he's built up over the last couple years has been awesome, and I'm sad to see it go get wasted on fucking Smackdown.
