January 4th WWE Raw VS TNA Impact Thoughts

So, tonight, I had a choice. Watch Brets return to the WWE on Raw. Or watch Hogans debut in TNA? I went with TNA, mainly to give them the ratings in hopes it would drive WWE to make a better product, because for the past couple years, it's pure garbage. Bret coming back wasn't THAT big of a deal mainly because, he did come back for his Hall Of Fame induction. The whole Vince being pissed that Bret didn't shake his hand crap is stupid because when Bret was put in the Hall Of Fame, WWE has a giant image of Bret and Vince shaking hands on WWE.COM when it was announced he was being inducted, so whatever. Also Bret had already stated in an interview just last year that after all these years there is no use being pissed and upset about things anymore and he has put it all in the past. So again, whatever.

After watching both shows, it goes like this. WWE Raw was boring except for maybe 2 minutes. TNA Impact on the other had, did what it calls itself. IMPACT. From the first match to that epic AJ vs Kurt match, TNA kicked major ass tonight. Sure it probably won't be huge in the ratings, but if TNA keeps going at this pace, WWE could be in some trouble. But I think the only way TNA could keep getting bigger from here and rise more and more to the top is to go live. No more tapings. No more spoilers leaking out. Go live, go head to head with Raw. Give the fans every week what we got tonight, which was a choice. During TNA, I heard "WHO NEEDS BRET" chants, during Raw, during the Vince and Bret segment, I heard "WE WANT HOGAN" chants. TNA had some great matches, some good surprises, and a feel of the old school. WWE Raw had, the same crap, horrible matches, and Bret Hart to hug HBK and get kicked by Vince. Cause no one saw that coming.

To put an end on this historic night, it might not show it in the ratings, but tonight, to me, TNA won 1-4-10.

  2. TNA is like a combination of wrestling's retirement home and training facility; other than AJ Styles, The Motor City Machine Guns and perhaps Beer Money, the rest of the roster is weak. I mean Scott Steiner hasn't been able to westle since he was teaming with his brother. Most of the roster is ready for an oxygen tank or defibulator simply walking out to the ring, (Kevin Nash, Raven, who has always sucked since his days as Scottie The Body in the Pacific Northwest, Team 3D,and Rhino then others simply suck like Samoa Joe, Shark Boy, Dr. Stevie, and Jay Lethal to name a few, I mean Chavo Guerreo could beat half of them. Sorry to ramble..

  3. I agree, TNA did kick ass and did have an "old school" feel to it. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I haven't been much of a wrestling fan for years now. It would be good if they do it on Monday nights and competition returns. WWE can take their kiddie show elsewhere!

  4. Well done TNA: Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall, Ric Flair, Sean Waltman, The Nasty Boys - another bunch of has-beens to add to your already ageing roster. What a joke. At least WWE is pushing new talent instead of relying on old famous faces to temporarily boost ratings.

  5. TNA did a great job. WWE did as well. Batista is not brittle boned btw! He is weak muscled due to his injuries being muscle related everytime. I have read this comment section twice and have come to the conclusion that every post was posted by a complete idiot. Almost every last one of you have mocked the WWE for using the DX gimmick regulary and John Cena for being a role model for children. Point one, you are mocking WWE for doing the same thing as TNA. Both the WWE and TNA use older talent. The Difference? TNA aging roster is much more over the hill than WWE aging roster. Now I love every aspect of WWE have since 1984. Kind of sad how none of you realize your bashing either WWE or TNA for doing THE EXACT same thing as one another. That is just sad because you are showing you are nothing but a complainer and a new war band wagon poser trying to force a new war when wars like these cannot be forced just ask Jeff Jarrett and everyone who ran WCW betwwen the Crocket era and the Bischoff era So, for all of you Cena bashers. I would rather have my kid watch John Cena then DX even tho I love DX. But! I will not hate on Cena due to the fact that cena has done what so money parents in this god for saken country connot achieve. Cena has filled our kids with good morals and a right path to walk in life without socially destroying the kid as most parents do. So for all you Cena haters I am not a fan of his but shame on you for wanting to do away with a good positive role model for MILLIONS AND MILLIONS of children. You should be ashamed for that.

  6. I had fun last night going back and forth. everytime I saw something exciting I missed something exciting on the other show. They put junk on at around the same time too, thats when I unpaused my xbox for a lil more mass effect. In the end my tv is finally excited for me again to be glued to it and Im proud of vince, hulk and jarret for giving me a happy monday night. May they both last long, way into the future!

  7. If you guys aven't notice during the years there have been faces that where for the kids for example hulk hogan. to let you all know hogan can't wrestle.....same with john cena. now batista is a lot like many of the tna guys same with most of the new talent in ecw it the sam stuff.....ether way. you'll watch some new talent like kofi kingston and compare it to a aj style like high flyer. dx can be compared to the returning nwo.....which is so boring in fact i believe before this decade is over the harts will join legacy and feud with tna......now for tna i got really bored with a promo the commircial promo then commercial.....as in wwe at least they had more of a story then hulk and eric you want to talk about old shit......."oh boy hogan. omg like what going to happen wow what do you know the nwo. i didn't see that coming"(sarcism.) atleast with bret hart the ended something.......or did they he signed a 4 mounth contract

  8. did anyone see the bloated and out of shape drunk scott hall? lol is this gonna be part of what hogan says will be the best wrestling entertainment in the world??

  9. Its nice to see TNA making an IMPACT on Monday nights. Now, I'm not gonna pick sides like most, but I honestly expected a better response from RAW. Bringing back Bret Hart for one night wasn't bad, but they didn't do a great job selling the moment. I hope that TNA continues to get better than ever, because WWE needs to quit being just a "kid-friendly" show.

  10. TNA was terrible. It was amateur hour in almost every way. Hogan screw-ups and cronies... Scott Hall was bloated and made no sense... X-pac was jumping up and down like a ten-year old. The matches were short and disinteresting... even the longer main event had so many repeat moves it stunk of lazy match prep... Awful show and anyone who claims it was a good show needs to repeat the sixth grade.

  11. I will gladly watch a bloated Scott Hall wrestle someone over watching 1 single John Cena match.

And no matter how crappy a TNA Impact episode could be, it would NEVER be as lousy as the now famouse JOHNNY DAMON HOSTED RAW episode with a Gay Sgt. Slaughter.

And as for the TNA RETIREMENT HOME and TNA needing old wrestlers for ratings crap, hey, guess what, this past monday on Raw, WWE was so scared of TNA they had to bring back Bret Hart, and OLD GUY. A CRIPPLED old guy at that. And lets see, TNA ended with a great AJ Styles vs Kurt Angle match, while Raw ended with an old guy kicking a crippled old guy in the stomach, YAA HOO!

Also, LOL @ Raws ratings not increasing at all, while TNAs ratings were at an all time high.

  12. I watched both shows, and i was much more interested in the wwe show, most of the people posting in here who are "pro tna" did not grow up in the attitude era, and have no clue what the MNW was all about, why it happened or how it happened, and why it impacted network television. You people who are pro TNA need to realize, that as long as we have PVR/TIVO/The INTERNET nobody will need to flip back and forth between channels to impact ratings, because we can either A: Read about it on the millions of wrestling websites on the internet B: TIVO it or C PVR it and skip the pointless shit that nobody cares about. Also, there are atleast by my count there are EIGHT washed up has beens on the TNA roster, which is a hell of alot more than what WWE has considering, the undertaker and HBK both can still out wrestle ANYONE on either roster, despite their physical conditions, just look at Wrestlemania 26 and observe their match from last year or hell even watch any of shawn micheals matches from his current run starting with his EPIC match upon his return at summerslam 03 when he took on Triple H in an unsanctioned match. I currently do not see anyone on TNA's roster with the exception of nigel mcguinness aka desmond wolfe that can even come close to the talent of any of the top wwe performers. So before any of you people who didnt watch the MNW start shooting off your mouths, like random villain did, do your research, think about what your saying before you speak, and then put your words on paper.

  13. WWE Fan Since early 90's and will remain loyal.. I checked out TNA for a little just to see if im missing anythig special... X-pac, Kevin Nash, and Scott hall all members of the original clique are lame now. The remaining 2 members of the group Shawn michaels and HHH, R still on top ov the game like the guy before me said. Shawn is still the man. but the truth is its not all about the wrestling even tho that is the major point of the show. TNAs superstars (aside from a few.. Kurt, AJ to name the main 2) just dont have the pesonality. I actually kind of in ring talent there. but nobody can hype a crowd up like DX or Cena. Kofi and a bunch of younger guys outdue them. and dont get me wrong the some skits and fueds with the WWE is cheezy but overall action and stage presence goes to WWE... I do give credit where it is due and TNA has a couple of stars that Rarem go0d and i would actually like to see them perfom again. but as of right now the WWE has much more talent... Id rather watch a show with 30 elite stars then a show with 4..

  15. It all depends on what you want.
Slow lazy wrestling with minimal action but great display of fireworks, lights huge screens and great story line. or great fast paced wrestling with crappy lights and no fire works .
